Among all kinds of transportation, getting by bus is the cheapest one, cost of a single ticket is only 3 euro (ticket code is 03), you have to purchase it in a tobacco shop (Tabaccheria) or in a special ticket booth, because it will cost twice as much if you buy it from the bus driver.
Travel time: 30 min maximum.
Schedule 11/P:
Working days: from 5.00am till 11.30pm every 10-30 minutes.
Weekend and holidays: from 7.00am till 11.30pm every 10-30 minutes (after 08.00pm once an hour).
On December 25, 26; January 1: from 8.00am till 11.59am and from 03.00pm till 08.00pm every 15-30 minutes.
Bus stop: railway station and bus stop are marked on the map, they are connected with the green line - this is the way to walk, the rest part of the road is to travel by bus. If you feel sick on a bus, you might travel by boat, because the road is very winding.

The pier in Riomaggiore is in the south-eastern part (3 minutes walk from the station): exit from the station, turn right and walk through the pedestrian tunnel, then go down the stairs to the shore. You will see signs and the stairs leading up on the left. The pier is there.
